China uses 33 × 48 mm for passports plus separate one-inch (一寸) and two-inch (二寸) sizes for domestic IDs.

Reading the table
Three numbers decide whether a photo is accepted: the outer size in millimetres, the same size in pixels once you export it, and the background colour. The millimetres are what a photo lab prints; the pixels are what an online form validates; the background is what an automated check measures. A crop that satisfies one of the three can still fail on another.
The fourth requirement never appears in a size table: how much of the frame your head fills. It is set separately by each authority — 32–36 mm from chin to crown across the Schengen area, 34 ± 2 mm in Japan, 25–35 mm in Korea and Singapore — so a correctly sized photo with a head too small in the frame is still rejected. Open the country page or its official source before you export.
